Medical Speech Pathology

Professional supervision

Medical Speech Pathology offers professional supervision for Speech Pathologists seeking to develop clinical skills in the area of adult practice, or non-clinical skills including leadership, supervision, career progression or Speech Pathology service development.

Melissa has supervised many Speech Pathology students and other Speech Pathologists, through roles as a Senior Speech Pathologist in the public hospital system, as the lead Speech Pathologist in a private hospital and as Speech Pathology & Dietetics Team Leader in a private community setting.

Melissa currently holds teaching and research roles at two Australian Universities, and is passionate about clinical education and supporting other Speech Pathologists to grow in their own areas of interest.

Melissa has a particular passion for evidence-based dysphagia management, with a focus on high-quality instrumental assessment and intervention, as well as working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and currently contributes to clinical research in this area.
